Botox Injection: Is This A Safe Procedure?
Botox injections are popular enough in the world of cosmetology today. They are used in order to prevent wrinkles from appearing on ones face or for eliminating the existing ones. Even young women in their twenties often make botox injections in order to prevent early skin aging. Speaking honestly, this is not the best idea for young women, because they have their lives ahead, and besides they can use other effective means for preventing aging. But what if you are in your forties and your skin is far not as beautiful as it used to be ten years ago? You notice wrinkles near your eyes and nose, and some of them are getting deeper and more noticeable. One of the most fast solutions in this situation would be botox, because it produces very quick and durable effect. But are botox injections safe for you?
Botox is actually a poisonous substance. If you take it internally, you will suffer severe illness and this will probably end in death. However, hypodermic botox injections are relatively safe for your body and won’t do any harm if given correctly and not too often. If you overdose botox or take injections very frequently, there is a great risk that you will develop such a serious illness as botulism poisoning. It is a type of food poisoning which is so severe that it can prove fatal, and even at best will certainly have very bad influence on your entire body.
Botulism is caused by the same bacteria that botox is made of. Its work is paralyzing the muscles it is injected into. A very small amount of botox is injected under your skin and in the face muscle with the help of a very thin-needled syringe. The muscles are weakened and thus the skin that is over them is smoothened, and this causes the wrinkles to disappear.
You have to know that botox injections are to be repeated approximately once per six month and they are fairly costly. They produce good effect, but the impact on your health that they carry is worth deliberating. Botox actually doesn’t solve the very problem of wrinkles. Wrinkles appear on your face because the skin loses its flexibility with age due to lack of moisturizing from within. Botox only makes the skin be stretched, but the problem remains. If you really want to eliminate your wrinkles, you will have to look for more natural ways of doing this.
First of all, your overall lifestyle matters. You have to have a good sleep every night, spend a lot of time in fresh air and avoid harmful foods. Drinking a lot of water every day is the most effective anti-aging means. These are not just ordinary recommendations, this is what really works. Getting a good anti-aging cream and always taking care of your skin is a much more safe idea than botox.
